HALLOWEEN SAFETY – A SPOOKTACULARLY SAFE NIGHT! With Halloween just around the corner, your local SNT officers would like everyone to enjoy the celebrations while keeping themselves and others safe!
Whether you’re heading out trick-or-treating, attending a Halloween party or staying in to hand out sweets, here are a few tips to help keep everyone safe:
Trick-or-treat safely
Younger children should always be accompanied by a responsible adult. Stick to well-lit streets and use pavements wherever possible. Take extra care when crossing roads, especially in dark clothing or costumes. Be visible
Add reflective accessories or carry a torch to help drivers see you. Make sure masks and costumes don’t obstruct vision or movement. Respect residents
Only knock on doors where Halloween visits are welcomed. Be respectful if someone doesn’t answer or chooses not to participate. Remember that not everyone celebrates Halloween, and some residents may feel anxious about unexpected visitors. Stay safe
Don’t enter the homes of people you don’t know. Children should only eat sweets and treats checked by a trusted adult. Keep our communities safe
Antisocial behaviour, vandalism and intimidating others are not part of Halloween fun. Let’s make sure everyone can enjoy the evening without feeling frightened or threatened. A little kindness goes a long way! Please look out for your neighbours and anyone who may feel vulnerable during the festivities.
From all of us in your local SNT, have a happy, fun and safe Halloween! |
